For our last week of this 20-week-holiday, we transfered from Ao Nang to Ko Lanta by (crowded but "proper") minibus, taking two ferries over mangrove-bordered waters. Seeing where the other tourists were dropped off, I am even more convinced that the
Lanta Paradise was a good coice. We are right at the pool and the beach: Love at first sight! There is an abundant choice of restaurants and bars along the beach, where you can get dinner for around 100 THB (20 NOK) and/or a cocktail during Happy Hour for the same price - so life is good here!
We are all a lot less home sick now, since friends who earlier reported perfect skiing conditions now speak of flooding in Norway...
The kids would happily stay in the pool all day every day, improving their swimming and diving skills, but were dragged out on a speedboat by their adventure-seeking parents yet again. We had booked a 4-island-tour which featured the Ko Mook Emerals Cave. Axel's brother had warmly recommended that. Thanks for the tip, Jörg!
We were a bit afraid that swimming through an 80m long, dark cave with a bend and full of bats was not for the children, but obviously they are just as adventure-seeking as their parents. Snorkeling was great! There was a larger variety of hard and soft coral than we had seen before and fish in such abundance that I checked my bathingsuit for trapped fish after swimming through a steam. Lea held on to me and either stuck her head under water herself or petted zebra-striped fish around my head and back.
